1. President Bola Tinubu announced on Monday that the Nigerian Federal Government has saved N1tn in just two months since removing petrol subsidy. He emphasized that the funds previously lost to “smugglers and fraudsters” will now be utilized for nationwide intervention programs benefiting families.
2. Former Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, assured that President Bola Tinubu would be satisfied with nominating him as a minister in his cabinet. Wike expressed this during the ministerial screening at the National Assembly on Monday.
3. Despite the removal of petroleum subsidy, the organized labor remains steadfast in its decision to proceed with planned protests. Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), confirmed this stance after a meeting at the presidential villa in Abuja on Monday.
4. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Ajuri Ngelale as Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity. Ngelale, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs in the Presidency, has a background in the office of ex-Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo.

5. President Bola Tinubu approved the provision of buses to students’ bodies across all universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education nationwide. Dele Alake, Special Adviser to the President on Special Duties, Communications & Strategy, made the announcement in a statement on Monday.
6. The list of state governments offering palliatives to citizens has expanded with Lagos, Yobe, and Bauchi joining in. Their plans include increasing their bus fleets, reducing transport fares, and distributing relief materials.
7. The Adamawa State Police Command arrested 110 individuals involved in the looting of government and private warehouses and stores in Yola on Sunday. The suspects have been charged to court, according to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
8. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, stated on Monday that salaries of National Assembly members were insufficient to meet the demands from their constituents. He highlighted the high volume of requests received and the challenges lawmakers face in fulfilling them.
9. National Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso, expressed confidence in winning the Imo State governorship election, scheduled for November 11. Kwankwaso conveyed this optimism during a briefing by NNPP’s governorship candidate, Uche Ben Odunzeh, and his deputy, Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel, in Abuja on Monday.
10. Justice Adenike Akinpelu of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Monday convicted three students for conspiring to gang-rape a cousin of one of them. The court found them guilty of two counts of criminal conspiracy and rape of the victim (name withheld) in the Adangba area of Ilorin East Local Government Area.
