1. Following a meeting with President Bola , during which an agreement was reached to call off their protests, the relationship between the organized labor and the Federal Government seems to have deteriorated. The unions have now vowed to embark on a nationwide strike from August 14 if their leaders are summoned for contempt of court orders.

The Federal Government has issued a directive to the Chief Medical Directors and Medical Directors in the Federal Tertiary Hospitals, instructing them to enforce the no work, no pay policy on striking members of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors. Additionally, the hospitals have been asked to maintain an attendance register for all resident doctors willing to work.
