1) Uncertainty Trails as DMB ration Old notes with new 

Deposit Money In light of uncertainty regarding whether the Central Bank of Nigeria will release the old notes in its custody, banks have begun rationing the distribution of old N1,000 and N500 notes to customers. This occurred approximately 24 hours after CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele declared that old N1,000, N500, and N200 notes were still legal tender.

 

2) Fuel Price Hike

Due to the incomplete delivery of products to many filling stations, the disparity in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as fuel, is expected to increase, oil marketers said on Tuesday. According to dealers affiliated with the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, there has been a recent imbalance in the distribution of PMS.

 

3) Police Declare Federal Lawmaker Wanted


Yakubu Shehu, the representative for Bauchi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is wanted by the Nigeria Police Force.
The police announced a N1m reward for anyone with useful information that could lead to his arrest.

 

4) NSA- March 18 polls more Complex than Feb 25 


The National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno, has stated that the March 18 governorship and state Houses of Assembly elections are more complex, but security agencies do not anticipate violence or disruption of the process. Monguno said this on Tuesday in Abuja at the Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security.

 

5) Feb 25th Polls- 12,988,978 Attacks Recorded- Isa Pantami


According to the Federal Government, a total of 12,988,978 attacks were recorded during the Nigerian Presidential and National Assembly elections on February 25. The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Pantami, said in a statement on Tuesday that attacks on public websites and portals originated both inside and outside of Nigeria and averaged approximately 1,550,000 per day.

 

6) Tinubu’s Preferred Candidate for N’Assemblu Leadership


Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the incoming president, has stated that he has not endorsed anyone for the National Assembly’s leadership. He said this at a meeting of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with National Assembly members-elect held at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.


7) News Naira: Banks Comply with CBN Directive

 

On Tuesday night, the CBN instructed banks to comply with the Supreme Court’s ruling that the old notes will remain legal tender until December 31, 2023. As a result, banks began accepting old N500 and N1,000 notes from customers without requiring the CBN cash return reference code yesterday.

10) Foreign Exchange Crisis: Banks Slash PTA, Other Fees

 

Deposit Funds In response to a worsening foreign exchange crisis, banks slashed the amount of Personal Travel Allowance and school fees their customers can request yesterday. Tuesday, some DMBs lowered the amount of PTA their customers can apply for from $4,000 to $2,000 in an email to customers.
