The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has suspended its planned nationwide strike which was slated to hold on Wednesday March, 29.

This comes after a meeting with the central bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele and Dr Chris Ngige, the minister of Labour in the country.
It would be recalled that the NLC had planned to begin a nationwide indefinite strike tomorrow, (Wednesday, March 29), and picketing of CBN offices across the country in response to the cash crunch that had caused untold hardships for Nigerians and businesses.

At the conclusion of this afternoon’s National Executive Council, NEC, meeting, NLC leaders gave the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, two weeks to normalise the nation’s money supply.
Meanwhile, the peoples Democratic party national chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu has stepped aside followed the ex-parte order by a court of legal jurisdiction in Benue.
This comes on the heel of the suspension of the national chairman by his executives of his ward in Benue state.
