Nnamdi Kanu News: US House Of Reps Member Writes Biden Over Kanu’s Continued Detention
Concerned by the indefinite arrest of IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu by the Nigerian government, a member of the United States House of Representatives has written to Vice President Joe Biden.
A member of the Texas House of Representatives named Jarvis Johnson, who represents District 139, wrote to the government of the United States (US), led by President Joe Biden, on Tuesday, urging authorities to facilitate the “unconditional release” of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained British-Nigerian leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra.

Johnson wrote to Biden in the letter that “The Abia State High Court judgement of January 19, 2022, exonerated Kanu from jumping bail.”
In addition to this, he stated that the Nigerian government was in violation of other legal duties.

The letter quotes a portion of an anonymous source as saying, “Kanu’s only offence is his persistent for the Nigerian government with the assistance of the international community to conduct a free and fair referendum as a peaceful means of resolving the ‘national question’ in Nigeria.”
Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s Special Counsel, responded positively to Johnson’s letter by expressing gratitude to the American politician.
