Stears polls: Obi leads new poll, Tinubu favourite among silent voters

A new poll by Stears Nigeria shows that Labour Party candidate Peter Obi has a 41% lead over the other candidates before the election on February 25.

At 31% and 20%, respectively, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party are close behind.

But when asked who they were likely to vote for, 36% of the people who answered stayed quiet.

Stears said in a poll that came out on Tuesday, “poll covers 6,220 respondents from Nigeria’s 36 States, making it the largest telephone-based election poll in Nigeria.”

But Stears’s model also shows that Tinubu will win the election if not enough people show up to vote.

The former governor of Lagos State will get 39% of the votes, while Obi and Atiku will each get 32% and 22%.

The pollsters found that “Stears prediction model believes that Tinubu has the most silent voters,” which means that people who plan to vote for Tinubu but don’t say so during an interview.
