Obio-Akpor Vice Chairman to Wike: ‘If You Burn the Secretariat, We’ll Rebuild It

The Vice Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area in Rivers State, Sophia Nkoro, also known by her social media handle @MamaFedora3, has weighed in on the escalating violence following the recent local government elections.

In a bold statement on Twitter, Nkoro tagged former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, addressing the rising tensions and destruction of council secretariats.

 

In her tweet, she referred to Wike as “Nebuchadnezzar,” adding, “@GovWike, if you burn down the council secretariat, we will build it back.” Nkoro’s defiant message follows the burning of three local government secretariats by suspected loyalists of the former governor, in response to the election outcomes.

Amid these threats, Nkoro vowed that any attempts to undermine the Obio-Akpor local government would be resisted.

 

Meanwhile, Chijioke Ihunwo, the Chairman of Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, has revoked the previous naming of the administrative block in the local government secretariat after former Governor Wike. The block has now been renamed Dr. Obi Wali House. Ihunwo issued a stern challenge to anyone opposing the decision, signaling that the council leadership is standing firm against external pressure.

Tensions remain high in Rivers State as political actors continue to grapple with the fallout from the recent elections, with violent incidents and arson threatening the stability of local government operations.
