Similar to the former governor of Edo, Mr. Obi was in the state to campaign, which obscured Mr. Oshiomhole’s remarks that he was to blame for Nigeria’s high unemployment rate.
A sizable crowd gathered in the city to see the former governor of Anambra, who had been in the state since Thursday night.
The opposition leader, who was well-liked by the young, also paid courtesy visits to Apostle Johnson Suleman, the general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries International, and Oba Ewuare II, the respected king of Benin.
