After a flight attendant had a heart attack and passed away, there was commotion in the air.

The heartbreaking incident took place on a flight from Bahrain to Paris.

On Tuesday at 1.40 a.m., Gulf Air flight GF-19 departed Bahrain International and was headed to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport when air hostess Yasser Saleh Al Yazidi became ill.

Yasser needed to be treated for his injuries, so the Airbus A321’s pilots were forced to make an urgent landing in Erbil in Iraq’s Kurdistan region.

Upon landing, a medical team met the aircraft and immediately transported the cabin crew member to the closest hospital. When they arrived, they declared him dead.

The national carrier extends its sincere condolences to the crew member’s family and loved ones and confirms that the flight resumed to Paris as scheduled, according to a Gulf Air statement issued in the wake of Yasser’s passing.

The statement continued, “Gulf Air thanks the passengers on the impacted flight for their patience and understanding and assures that the safety of its passengers and crew comes at the top of its priorities.”
