PDP Crisis: Ebenezer Babatope, issues Fresh warning to Wike, G5 over Ayu

A former minister of transportation and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ebenezer Babatope, has cautioned the disgruntled governors on the PDP platform, also known as the G-5, not to seize power for themselves or they will come to regret it.

Governor Nyesom Wike of the Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of the Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of the Benue State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of the Enugu State, and Okezie Ikpeazu are the members of the G5, also known as the Integrity Group.

To support Atiku Abubakar’s bid for president in the 2023 elections, the five governors have demanded the resignation of Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP National Chairman.

“We have made every effort to appease them. Good luck to them if they decide to leave at this time. The better for all of us if they want to stay in PDP, Babatope recently stated in an interview with newsmen.

“Governor Wike and his allies must not claim authority over matters that are not within their purview. They’ll make mistakes and possibly come to regret it if they do that.

We all admire Wike for his bravery, but if you seize power for yourself, you risk losing the public’s support.
