PDP G5 Governors sheaths sword, makes new demands
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) crisis appears to have been resolved after the party’s leadership reached an agreement with the PDP G5 governors.
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State and a member of the PDP G5 Governors, has been at odds with Atiku since Wike was denied the party’s presidential candidacy.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State are the other PDP G5 Governors.
The G5 are also demanding Iyorchia Ayu’s resignation as party chairman in an effort to purportedly lessen the North’s dominance of the PDP.
They are also unhappy that Atiku rejected Wike as his running mate.
However, there are signs that the crisis shaking the main opposition party may have been resolved by former military ruler General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd).
The seemingly productive negotiations saw the G5 presenting new requests.

An unnamed party official said that the G5 had agreed to support Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, in exchange for giving in to their new demands.
The dependable source reports that their requests are as follows: “That the top government positions be distributed among the six geopolitical zones;
“That if Atiku wins, all party offices in the South should move to the North and vice versa, and that the security chiefs should be distributed among all the geopolitical zones.”
