Osun PDP suspends Political Activities over Death of Davido’s Son, Ifeanyi Adeleke 

In a show of respect and mourning for Davido’s late son, Ifeanyi, the Osun state branch of the People’s Democratic Party has suspended all political activity for the week.

You may remember that Davido, who is a cousin of the newly elected Governor of Osun, Ademola Adeleke, was said to have lost his son when he was apparently drowned in a poll in the state of Lagos.

The Osun Caretaker Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Adekunle Akindele, issued a statement in which he expressed sadness over the incident and prayed with the family for God to console them. The statement also offered their prayers to God on behalf of the family.

“In light of Ifeanyi’s passing, we have decided to put a halt to all party events in order to express our condolences to Adeleke’s family.

We are heartbroken by the tragic passing of our son, Ifeanyi. The peace of his soul is something that we pray for. Even if today is a difficult one, we will not waver in our commitment to the Lord of the Universe.

“Our condolence goes to Davido, our youth ambassador. We extend our condolences to our spiritual father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, and to the rest of the Adeleke family.

The statement further reads, “We pray that the good Lord will grant the family the strength to bear this loss that cannot be repaired.”
