The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has called upon Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to temporarily hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for the effective governance of the state.
Fatai Adams, the Ondo State PDP chairman, conveyed this message during a news conference at the party’s Akure secretariat on Tuesday.

While expressing well wishes for Akeredolu’s recovery, Adams emphasized the collective welfare of the state’s residents. Drawing parallels to advice given by the governor in the past, Adams urged Akeredolu to adhere to the constitutional provision for such situations and transfer power to Aiyedatiwa.
Highlighting concerns about the state’s governance during Akeredolu’s absence, Adams criticized the perceived impunity and alleged indiscipline within the administration. He contended that such issues indicated a lack of cohesion and legitimacy in the government.

In a warning directed at the All Progressives Congress (APC) counterpart, Adams urged against denigrating remarks, promising reciprocal responses. The PDP chairman stressed the party’s dedication to fulfilling its responsibilities and safeguarding the state’s resources.
