Peter Obi’s petition against Tinubu is weighty, issues APC failed to deal with before election are now showing up again — Prof Adeniyi
As the contents of the recent petition filed against President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Peter Obi of the Labour Party continue to occupy the front burner of public discourse, renowned political analyst, Professor Abiodun Adeniyi has come out to express concern on the weight of the legal challenges that could be staring the APC camp in the face.
While speaking during an interview on Thursday, Adeniyi, who is a Professor of Communications, opined that he does not blame Obi and other political stakeholders who are capitalizing on several key issues that Tinubu and the ruling APC failed to deal with properly before the elections by dragging the president-elect before an Election Tribunal.
Going further, the renewed political analyst pointed out that the weight of the matters being tabled before the courts will no doubt put a lot of pressure on the judiciary.
He said; “There is some heat that we seem to be feeling as a country in this post-election stage. Very serious issues are arising. And of cause, you can not blame Obi and other litigants who have filed cases against the APC. We thought that these issues should have been resolved by Tinubu’s camp at the pre-election stage. They were quiet during that period, but now the problems are rearing their heads again. And of cause, these issues are very, very concerning.
The anxiety is increasing, and a lot of pressure is now on the judiciary. And you probably would want to sympathize with them and wish them well because there are a lot of expectations from all sides.”
