PIDOMNigeria‘ Trial: Nigerian High Court Schedules Hearing for Isaac Bristol’s Bail Application on September 27.
The Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled a hearing for the bail application of Isaac Bristol, who is accused by Nigerian authorities of operating the whistleblower social media account ‘PIDOMNigeria’. The court hearing will take place on September 27, 2024.
Earlier reports from SaharaReporters indicated that the court had set September 9 for a motion challenging Bristol’s unlawful detention.

Comrade Omoyele Sowore, a prominent human rights activist and convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, announced the upcoming bail hearing on his X account, urging Nigerians to demonstrate solidarity for Bristol.
Sowore stated, “Bristol Isaac, aka @PIDOMNIGERIA, is scheduled to appear at the Federal High Court in Abuja tomorrow for a bail hearing, accused of exposing high crimes. All are welcome! Time: 9 AM #FREEPIDOMNIGERIANOW.”
The Nigerian government, through the Inspector-General of Police, has accused Bristol of being behind the notable whistleblower account. The court also set September 11, 2024, as the date for the hearing of his bail application.
Justice Emeka Nwite presided over the proceedings, having previously ordered that Bristol be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre until September 23, 2024, after his arraignment.
During the proceedings, Bristol entered a plea of not guilty to the nine counts of various cybercrime-related offenses filed against him by the police.
