Reports making rounds claims that there was increased security along the routes leading to Ahmadu Bello Way, where President Buhari was scheduled to announce one of the projects, the protesting youths still managed to humiliate the leader.
The Kano Police Command spokesman, SP Abdullahi Haruna, however, dismissed the allegations of an attack on President Buhari as false and unfounded in a conversation with newsmen.
According to Haruna, the only incident of violence in the state occurred when a representative of the Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) stabbed a driver of a commercial tricycle, causing chaos.

He claimed that the incident did not sit well with the local youths, who organized to attack any KAROTA personnel they saw. This resulted in the traffic officials being attacked with stones as they fled the scene for safety.
The rampage was still going on, according to the police spokesman, when President Buhari retired to the Government House following the inauguration of projects.
Because of the massive combined security presence, Haruna vehemently denied that anyone or any group attacked the President’s convoy and added that the visit was peaceful and trouble-free.
