Pope Francis Says Ex-pope Benedict Is ‘Very Sick’
On Wednesday, December 28, Pope Francis asked for special prayers for former Pope Benedict, stating that Benedict is “very sick” and requesting that the faithful pray for him.
At the conclusion of his general audience, the Catholic priest made the appeal, but he did not provide any additional information.

In 2013, at the age of 95, Benedict resigned as Pope, becoming the first pope in approximately 600 years to do so. Since that time, he has been making his home in the Vatican.
