Pope Benedict’s Last Testament: The Vatican has released the late Pope Benedict XVI’s final spiritual testament before he passed away. The document was written shortly before his death.

In his final will and testament, which was published on Sunday, Pope Benedict XVI begged forgiveness from those he had “wronged.”

On Saturday, the former pope who was born in Germany passed away at the age of 95 at his vatican residence.

The late pope who at birth was named Joseph Aloisius Ratzinger.In 2005 succeeded Pope John Paul II and made history by becoming the first pope in approximately 600 years to resign from his position.

In his testament, which was dated August 29, 2006, Benedict XVI described the “dark and tiring stretches” of his path as being a necessary experience for his salvation.

He thanked God for rescuing him every time he felt himself starting to “slip.

In part of the letter, it was written, “To all those whom I have wronged in any way, I ask forgiveness from the bottom of my heart.”
