Gambian Vice President Badara Joof Is Dead
Badara Joof, Vice President of the Gambia, is said to have passed away in India.
According to a tweet by Adama Barrow, the President of The Gambia, Badara passed away on Sunday after battling a brief illness.

“It is with great sadness that I must inform my fellow Gambians of the passing of my Vice President, His Excellency Badara Alieu Joof,” President Jammeh wrote on Twitter.
The unfortunate occurrence took place in India after a brief period of illness. May Allah grant him entry into Jannahul Firdawsi, President Barrow said in a tweet.

Prior to his election as Vice President, Mr. Joof served from 2017 until 2022 as Gambia’s Minister of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology.
