He stated that he never endorsed Emenike’s governorship ambitions and cautioned against exploiting him for political gain.

Apugo accused the APC-led Federal Government of ignoring Abia State, claiming that the federal government has no presence in the state.

“The APC has done nothing for my home state of Umuahia and Abia,” he lamented.

In addition, he stated that the APC had not done much for Ndigbo and urged voters to vote in the upcoming election based on the competence and integrity of candidates rather than the party logo.

Apugo described the Igbo political elite as myopic and self-centered saboteurs after they made disparaging remarks about Obi.

He urged Igbo voters not to be deterred by the unpatriotic actions of these elements, who he claimed rarely visited their communities.

According to him, Obi’s presidential ambitions and candidature have brought honour and respect to the Igbo people.

He recalled that this would be the first time Nigerians of various ethnic, religious, and political backgrounds would unite behind a presidential candidate from the South East.

Apugo urged Ndigbo at home and abroad to vote in the upcoming elections for credible candidates of their choice.

He insisted that the era of manipulating election results was over, stating that those wishing to rig the polls would need to come up with a new plan.
