Rivers pastors threaten curse on interim government proponents

A group of Rivers State pastors has vowed to cast a curse on those who advocate for an interim government in the country.

Under the auspices of Rivers Pastors Unite for Tinubu (RPUT), clerics issued a warning to destabilizers of the country’s democracy, stating that they must desist or face the wrath of God.

The group’s coordinators, Pastor Sunday Edimeh and the founder of One Life Bible Church in Port Harcourt, and Pastor Julius Dan of the Apostolic Church of Nigeria, said in a statement that they continue to be staunch supporters of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidency.

According to them, contrary to the belief of some, not all pastors opposed Tinubu’s election victory in the most recent election.

They stated that as a non-political organisation, they only interacted with Tinubu’s structure through former Osun Commissioner for Works Engr. Remi Omowaiye, who recalled their support for Tinubu prior to the election.

They stated, “We of the Rivers Pastors Unite for Tinubu diligently prayed, worked, and campaigned with our various church members for Bola Tinubu’s victory. God be the glory, our efforts were rewarded with Tinubu’s resounding victory despite being blackmailed and called all manner of names.

“The fact that Tinubu’s pedigree demonstrates he is the right man for the job continues to motivate us to support him. Although a Muslim and married to an RCCG Pastor, she is a Muslim. Aswaju Bola Tinubu has supported and elevated Pastors and men of God more than any other presidential candidate.

“Among those he elevated are Vice-President (Pastor) Yemi Osinbajo, Pastor Tunde Fowler, the former chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FiRS), Pastor Ben Akabueze, and the director-general of the Nigeria Budget office, among others.”
