In a shocking development, popular Nigerian whistleblower PIDOM has allegedly been kidnapped by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The news, which has sparked widespread concern, was brought to light by investigative journalist David Hundeyin, who expressed fears for PIDOM’s life.

David Hundeyin, a close associate of PIDOM, took to social media to voice his worries, stating, “If indeed my friend PIDOM has been killed, I want the world to know what happened and who was responsible for it.

I will not be silent about it. Nigerians must know. Even if as usual, they will do nothing about it, they must know. If not for our sake, then for our children. If not for them, then for their children. Or maybe their children after them.”

Hundeyin’s statement paints a grim picture of the current state of affairs in Nigeria, where activists and whistleblowers often find themselves targets of the government’s oppressive tactics. He further highlighted the dangers posed by advanced surveillance tools like NSO Group’s Pegasus spyware, which are reportedly used to monitor and silence dissenters.

Hundeyin added, “Eventually someday, a generation will arise in this country that will not know fear. No NSO Group and its Pegasus spyware will suffice for this establishment then; no Circles and its smartphone exploits will yield nearly enough information to stop what is inevitable.”

The journalist also urged Nigerians to raise their voices in support of PIDOM, warning that the government’s actions could soon target anyone. “And on the off-chance that PIDOM NIGERIA is still alive and in the custody of the Nigerian government, I also want the Nigerian people to know.

This is what your gratuitously-extracted taxes are funding in our country. Speak out for PIDOM because tomorrow it will be you. If not you, then your wife, your brother, your neighbor, your child. The monster we have emboldened since 2015 with our silence and fear is coming for all of us next.”

The disappearance of PIDOM has also caught the attention of other social media users. One user pointed out the disturbing trend of activists being targeted while criminals roam free, saying, “PIDOM Media, who tweets for the 99% oppressed Nigerians, has gone missing, and nothing has been heard from his social media accounts in days now. The country goes after activists when criminals walk free, says a lot about where we’re heading for in Nigeria.
