Powerful Nigerian monarch, Oba Adekoya dies as governor mourns
The Dagburewe of Idowa in Odogbolu, Ogun State, Oba Yinusa Oladele Adekoya, has passed away.
On Sunday, Ejes Gist News Nigeria learned, Oba Adekoya passed away at the age of 87.

According to this online newspaper, Late Adekoya was one of the most powerful kings in Ijebuland. He is the second-in-command to Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona Ogbagba II, the Awujale of Ijebu land.
The governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, said in a statement that the death of the monarch is a great loss.
“We mourn the passing of our beloved Royal Father, Alayeluwa, Oba Yinusa Oladele Adekoya, the Dagburewa of Idowa, with a profound sense of loss.
“This is a sad development that touches my heart, as I have always had a close relationship with the late traditional ruler, whose contributions to humanity cannot be overstated, particularly in Idowa and Ijebuland as a whole.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the entire family and the good people of Idowa, and we pray that God grants them the fortitude to endure this irreplaceable loss,” said Governor Abiodun.
