Presidency reacts to Buhari’s alleged refusal to Hand Over to Tinubu, Debunks Report
In response to reports that President Muhammadu Buhari would not hand over power to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the winner of the recently held presidential elections, the Nigerian Presidency has issued a statement.
The presidency urged the public to ignore the report in a statement sent to Ejes Gist News Nigeria on Friday and bearing Garba Shehu’s signature. The declaration said:

“The Presidency wishes to denounce as outrageous and fake, and condemns the fake news brigade for attributing and disseminating a false quote,” reads a statement from the state house.
“How can you fervently campaign for someone, cast your ballot for him, and then declare that you won’t give him the reins? This defies comprehension.
“The government is currently going through a transition. The Transition Committee, comprised of members of the current and incoming administrations, meets almost daily to prepare for the transfer of power to the Tinubu/Shettima administration.
Thirteen committees that are offshoots of the main committee are either already at work or will be soon, some of which are planning military drills and President Buhari’s withdrawal. There are currently no issues and everything is running smoothly.
“As for the President, the Daura community has started making plans to welcome their son home following his successful leadership of the nation for two terms totaling eight years. For his part, he can’t wait to get back home and retire.
