A video that has gone viral shows the Interim President of Guinea, Mamady Doumbouya, accompanied by his sons and heavily armed military personnel, taking a stroll.

Mamady Doumbouya, a military officer, has been serving as the interim president of Guinea since October 1, 2021.

He came into power through a coup d’état on September 5, 2021, which ousted the previous president, Alpha Condé. Doumbouya is a member of the Guinean Special Forces Group and a former French legionnaire.

Who is Mamady Doumbouya, the Interim President of Guinea?

Mamady Doumbouya is a military officer and the current Interim President of Guinea. Born on March 1, 1980, in Kankan, Guinea, Doumbouya gained prominence when he led a successful coup d’état on September 5, 2021, overthrowing the previous president, Alpha Condé.

Doumbouya has a military background and is a member of the Guinean Special Forces Group. Prior to his involvement in politics, he served as a French legionnaire. Not much is publicly known about his early life and education.
