The latest news now is that, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Hon. Ojukaye Flag Amachree as the new Director of Energy Security in the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
This appointment was announced by Zakari Mijinyawa, Head of Strategic Communications at ONSA, signaling the government’s strong focus on securing the nation’s energy supply.

Amachree, with over two decades of experience across business, politics, and the energy sector, is expected to bring his expertise to address Nigeria’s critical energy challenges.
His academic background includes management degrees and a certification from Lagos Business School. He has held key leadership roles, particularly in the Niger Delta region, which is central to Nigeria’s energy landscape.

The newly established Energy Security Directorate will concentrate on policy coordination, infrastructure protection, data management, and risk advisory. Amachree will work closely with stakeholders, including government ministries, security agencies, energy regulators, and community leaders, to address Nigeria’s current and future energy challenges.
