Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has asserted that the Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration has performed admirably.
Uzodimma’s remarks come amid widespread economic hardships, food inflation, and petrol scarcity affecting many Nigerians.
The governor, who also serves as chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF), made these statements on Monday during a visit to the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, at the party’s headquarters in Abuja.
He expressed confidence that the APC will win the upcoming governorship election in Edo State and retain control of Ondo State.
He said: “We are here because we are governors of the APC. APC produced us, and we are in Abuja for a meeting. In obedience to the concept of party loyalty, we visited the Secretariat to connect with the party’s leadership—the chairman and members of the National Working Committee. Above all, we commiserate with the chairman, who recently lost his mother-in-law, and show solidarity with the chairman and managers of our party.
“Those who serve us, the national leadership of our party, are providing day-to-day service, managing our party, and overseeing its policies. We, as members and critical stakeholders of the party, are committed to supporting and encouraging them as a show of solidarity.
“As the chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), when I speak, I speak on behalf of my colleagues—20 governors. A party like APC, which controls 20 out of 36 states and has produced a President and members of the Federal Executive Council, is the majority party. If the election is a game of numbers, it means the majority will win.
“On the 20th of this month, the National Campaign Council will be inaugurated in Edo State, and it is expected that most members of the Progressive Governors Forum will attend. No other party can boast of such political assets. We don’t need to overemphasize our strengths.

“The truth is that the APC has done very well in Nigeria. The current economic issues are global problems. Under our leadership, President Bola Tinubu is implementing policies to address the economic situation he inherited. He has started making necessary adjustments, and I am confident that soon Nigerians will celebrate his efforts.”
In his remarks, Ganduje expressed confidence in the governors elected on the APC platform, assuring them that their interests are protected by the national leadership.
Urging them to continue making the party proud, Ganduje stated that the APC leadership will maintain a cordial relationship with them.
“We were highly pleased when I received information about their visit. It is a big blessing for us. We have confidence in our governors and will do all it takes to maintain good relationships with them and protect their interests. They are assisting the party and making it proud,” he stated.
Uzodimma was accompanied by Cross River Governor Bassey Otu, Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and Ekiti State Governor Abiodun Oyebanji.
