Naira Marley and Mohbad’s Manager Summoned by House of Representatives
In an effort to secure the musical rights of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, the House of Representatives has called on controversial singer Azeez Fashola, widely known as Naira Marley, to appear before them.
The House Committee on Justice, Youth, and Legislative Compliance has also extended an invitation to Mohbad’s manager, Jiggy Adeoye, to appear on October 31.
Mohbad, a former artist under Naira Marley’s record label, passed away on September 12, 2023, under controversial circumstances.

This led the Lagos State Government to initiate a coroner’s inquest into the 27-year-old singer’s demise.
The House’s decision to summon Naira Marley and Mohbad’s manager comes following a motion put forth by Babajimi Benson, the representative for Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Lagos State.
Benson stressed the urgency of revising the laws governing the entertainment industry to protect artists’ copyrights and royalties.
