Rivers Governor, Fubara To Set Up Panel To Probe Nyesom Wike’s Eight-Year Administration.

In a surprise move, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has announced plans to establish a panel to investigate the governance of the state during the eight-year tenure of his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. This development comes after Fubara swore in Dagogo Iboroma as the new Attorney General of the state, following his confirmation by the State House of Assembly.

Governor Fubara charged Iboroma with setting up the panel of enquiry to scrutinize the activities of the state government between 2015 and 2023, when Wike was in office. Fubara stated that the state is facing a critical situation, and the political crisis cannot be resolved amicably. He accused his opponents of deliberately sabotaging his administration and vowed to make tough decisions, no matter how hurtful they may seem.

This move is seen as a significant departure from the previous administration and a bold step towards accountability and transparency. The probe is expected to shed light on the activities of the state government during Wike’s tenure, which has been marred by controversy and political tensions.

In a related development, Governor Fubara responded to comments made by former Attorney General Zacchaeus Adangor (SAN) and his counterpart in the Ministry of Works, Alabo George-Kelly. He accused Adangor of sabotaging his administration by filing a nolle prosequi against the interest of the state.
