Ondo State’s Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has stated that his condition is not life-threatening.
On Tuesday, the governor spoke.
Akeredolu, who acknowledged that he has been recovering, insisted that his health has not in any way interfered with his performance of his official duties as the state’s governor.

People in the state have been worried about the governor’s health since Monday after an unconfirmed audio clip purporting to be from his wife Betty provided a hint about it.
According to a statement from the governor’s chief press secretary, Richard Olabode, he has been engaged in rigorous activities since last week, so the public should disregard rumors that he is not active.
He continued by saying that the governor participated actively in both the APC presidential rally held in the state on January 7 and the events commemorating Armed Forces Day.
“Like any other mere mortal, Governor Akeredolu has experienced health issues for which he has since received treatment and quickly recovered.

The health issue is therefore not unusual given that the Governor is not a superhuman and the immunity his office enjoys does not extend to physical well-being or otherwise.
Contrary to rumors and suppositions going around, the governor is still performing his official duties despite his frailty.
“The Governor will continue to carry out his official responsibilities to the good people of Ondo State in accordance with the Redeemed Agenda of his administration while he finds quality time to rest for renewed vigor and strength just like any man in his situation,” reads a statement from the governor.
