APC Wali- Rivers govt’s appointment of 50,000 aides is vote buying

Kingsley Wali, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has charged the Rivers administration with purchasing votes.

Nyesom Wike, the governor, appointed 28,000 Special Assistants on Political Units on October 12.

The number of aides had climbed to 50,000, according to an announcement made the following day by his spokesperson Kelvin Ebiri.

14,000 Special Advisers, 319 Ward Liaison Officers, and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers are among the new hires.

In response, Wali claimed that under the guise of appointment or employment, vote buying had been legalized and sanctioned.
