Shettima reveals Tinubu’s decision that will invalidate Islamization of Nigeria agenda

Kashim Shettima, the vice president-elect, stated that Bola Tinubu wants the Senate President to be a Christian from the South-South.

According to Shettima, this will change the negative narrative of Nigeria’s Islamization.

His remarks come amid escalating protests over the nomination of preferred candidates of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the incoming 10th National Assembly’s presiding officers.

On Friday, Shetima met with the APC’s designated speaker and deputy speaker, Tajudeen Abbas from Kaduna State (North West) and Benjamin Kalu from Abia State (South East).

According to reports, the APC has endorsed Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom) and Barau Jibrin (Kano) for Senate president and vice president, respectively.

“We are attempting to avoid a situation in which the number one, number two, number three, and number four citizens are all of the same faith.

This will confirm the negative narrative of Islamization in Nigeria.

“Therefore, my fair-minded principal, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insists that the number three citizen must be from the South/South (Christian). The nation’s stability is the most important factor to consider. “We are discussing inclusivity,” Shettima stated.
