Warmate argued that the position should instead be assigned to a state in the North-Central region, specifically Plateau. He criticized Tambuwal for defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC) during his tenure as Speaker, despite being given the position by the PDP.
Warmate expressed disappointment and shock at Tambuwal’s desire to become the minority leader in the 10th Senate, questioning his credibility and courage based on his past behavior.

The CPDPL emphasized the importance of the party representing the interests of the people and not being exploited or abandoned by its leaders.
