Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi, has been suspended by the Senate over his allegation of budget padding.
The suspension, which will last for three months, was initiated following a motion by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim.

However, there were suggestions from some Senators to reduce Ningi’s suspension to six months.
Ningi had accused the Senate of padding the 2024 appropriation bill with N3.7 trillion during an interview with BBC.
During Tuesday’s deliberations, the Senate cited Ningi’s alleged misconduct and refusal to apologize as grounds for his suspension.
