Shehu Sani Exposes Actual Reason Behind FG’s Decision To Postpone 2023 Census, says its due to lack of funds
Former lawmaker Shehu Sani has revealed why the Federal Government delayed the 2023 national census.
The social critic asserted that Bola Tinubu, the incoming president, is now responsible for funding the census, which is estimated to cost approximately $1.8 billion.

On Saturday, Sani posted the hint on his verified Twitter account.
This online newspaper had previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari had approved delaying the 2023 Population and Housing Census.
Friday night’s meeting between members of the Federal Executive Council and the National Population Commission led to the decision.

The new date, according to Buhari, will be determined by the incoming administration.
However, Sani stated that the federal government lacks the funds to finance the census.
He wrote, “It’s a simple fact that the FG lacks $1.8 billion for the Census and has now transferred the Wahala to Asiwaju.”
