Sokoto Gov-elect Sets Up Committee To Probe Tambuwal
Ahmed Aliyu, the incoming governor of Sokoto, has established a Finance and Debt Verification Committee to investigate the administration of Aminu Tambuwal, the outgoing governor.
The committee, headed by the incoming Deputy Governor, Mohammed Idris Gobir, is tasked with identifying all loans secured by the Tambuwal administration since its inception and determining whether the borrowed funds were used for their intended purpose.

The 20-member committee was among the subcommittees inaugurated by Ambassador Abubakar Sani, Makaman Sokoto, chairman of the APC Transition Committee, on Wednesday.
Some state lawmakers have claimed that the Tambuwal administration secured N86 billion in loans for the state.

The incoming governor was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the principal opposition party in the state to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Meanwhile, Bola Tinubu, the incoming president of Nigeria, has heaped praise upon Governor Nyeson Wike.
Tinubu told Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Wednesday that he is extremely dependable.
