Alleged arrest of 2 Anambra billionaires, fake news — Soludo
The government of Anambra State has refuted reports that it issued warrants for the arrest of two billionaires residing in the state on suspicion that they stole money from the state.
Mr. Christian Aburime, who serves as the press secretary for Governor Chukwuma Soludo, issued a statement in which he referred to the purported arrest as “fake news.”

According to the aforementioned report, Soludo is said to have issued an arrest warrant for a number of prominent citizens of Anambra State over flying revenue windows that are under their control in the event that they refuse to appear before the chairman of the revenue committee of Anambra State and the Deputy Governor of the state this week.
Aburime is quoted as saying, “The government wishes to state that the report is fake news, fabricated by a person whose objective is unknown.”

“Ndi Anambra are therefore advised to disregard the report as fictitious, malicious, and a figment of the imagination of the writer” said the advisory.
