A Brief Summary of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal’s Proceedings for, Wednesday, June 21st, 2023

 

Proceedings Began At About 2:35 p.m.

LP’s legal Legal was led by Dr. Livy Uzoukwu, And proceedings were conducted by PIN. Ikwueto SAN, Ikechukwu Ezechukwu SAN, and Peter Afuba SAN.

HE Peter Obi Was absent, but Ladi Iliya Represented LP (2nd Petitioner).

1st Witness of the Day, but 8th So Far (PW8) Was Called Up Chubuike Ugboke is an Expert Witness and Cyber Security expert.

All Respondents Objected to the cross-examination of this witness, Stating That His Statement Was Served To Them This morning.

The Court Agreed to Carry on with the Examination in Chief, but Cross Examination Will Be Done Tomorrow

His Subpoena Was tendered with no objection and Was Admitted by the court.

His Witness Statement on Oath (WSOO), A Copy of A Document Described as metadata, and Another Document Titled ‘Alleged Plot to Abandon Online Transmission of Polling Units Results, Signed by Festus Okoye, were presented, objected to by the respondents, and Admitted by the court.

2nd Witness for the Day but 9th So Far (PW9), Onoja Loko Sunday, A Staff of Women/Child Rescue Initiative (A non-profit organisation), Was Called Up

His subpoena was served, there was no objection, and the court accepted it.

His WSOO and ID Card Were Tendered, Objected To By Respondents, and AdmittedBy Court

He Was cross-examined by respondents, and the Highlights Are

He was an election observer. Voting and counting went well. Form EC8A was duly signed, and LP won, but results were not uploaded from PU but taken to the collation centre.

3rd Witness For the Day, 10th So Far (PW10), Kephas Iya, A Civil Servant, Was Called Up

He was cross-examined by respondents, and the Highlights Are

He was an INEC Adhoc Staff member and non-partisan.
He and a certain Suleiman Mustapha supervised 24 units in Malagali ward in Adamawa State.
Results were not transmitted from PUs.

1. A list certified by INEC containing the total number of registered voters and PVCs collected

2. Certified True Copies of the Certificate of Compliance in Edo State

3. CTCs of supplementary iREV documents for Benue State

4. CTCs of the iREV report for 3 LGAs in Benue State

5. CTCs of supplementary iREV documents for 2 LGAs in Cross Rivers State

6. CTCs of iREV reports for 12 LGAs in Lagos State

7. CTC of the iREV report for 1 LGA in Gombe State

All Were Objected To By Respondents but Admitted by Court
