He asserted that the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari should have removed the petrol subsidy instead of borrowing over N400bn monthly to sustain it.
Omokri emphasized that all three major candidates in the 2023 presidential poll had promised to eliminate the petrol subsidy. He stated, “So, it amounts to intellectual dishonesty for anybody to claim Nigeria is collapsing.
We are experiencing some positive outcomes right now.”
Continuing, Omokri argued for the necessity to float the naira, emphasizing that multiple exchange rates are not sustainable.
He pointed out that fuel importation has been reduced by more than 50%, indicating the success of subsidy removal. Additionally, local refining has increased by 8%, showcasing tangible results.

Regarding the rule of law in Nigeria, Omokri advised the Labour Party (LP) to accept its fate after losing the 2023 presidential election.
He cited the removal of the Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Betta Edu, following fraud allegations as evidence of the existence of a rule of law. Omokri concluded by urging unity and support for Nigeria’s progress post-election.
