Gunmen abduct Ogun traffic official on Lagos-Ibadan expressway
Popoola Olasupo, a member of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, was kidnapped by unknown assailants while en route to his duty post with a colleague.
Olasupo was reportedly kidnapped around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State near the Eledumare-Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Due to the sensitivity of the matter, a source who requested anonymity confirmed the abduction.
Further investigation revealed that police officers and volunteers are currently on the trail of the gunmen.
The source stated that the gunmen, who emerged from the bush and opened fire on the commercial bus in which the official was traveling, abducted only him.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for TRACE, could not be reached for comment at the time this report was filed.
Akinbiyi did not answer his mobile phone’s incoming calls and had not responded to text message sent to him.

SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, state police public relations officer, confirmed the incident when contacted.
“Our anti-kidnapping team is currently pursuing them. We are scouring the forest, and we are certain that all of them will be apprehended.
“Ogun State is not a place where criminals can reside. Either they leave the state or we smoke them out, Oyeyemi said.
