Newly Elected Councillor’s Father Murdered in Rivers Amid Violence Protest
The newly elected councillor’s father in Rivers State, Ndiika Benson was on Monday killed in the violent protest that erupted in the state.
Mr. Benson Ndoone, a security officer at Kenule Beeson Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic in Bori, Khana Local Government Area, was reportedly killed by suspected political thugs opposing the recent local council elections.

This incident occurred at the Rector’s Lodge, where the swearing-in of newly elected councillors had taken place; the place was doubling as a secretariat of the just dissolved Caretaker Committee.
According to accounts from eyewitnesses, the attackers disrupted the program, and in the resultant chaos, Mr. Ndoone fell in the process of the attack.
