Appoints Daniel Bwala as Special Adviser, Names Three DGs.

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications. This announcement was made in a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, who also revealed the appointment of three other individuals as directors-general of various agencies.

Bwala, a prominent lawyer and public affairs analyst, served as the spokesman for the PDP presidential campaign team in the 2023 election, where Tinubu defeated Atiku Abubakar and others to secure the presidential ticket. Despite being a vocal critic of the APC and Tinubu during the campaign, Bwala later reconciled with the ruling party, announcing his intention to collaborate with the administration after the election.

The newly appointed directors-general are:

  1. Mr. Olawale Olopade – Director-General, National Sports Commission. Olopade, an experienced sports administrator, previously served as the Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State and chaired the organizing committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival.
  2. Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism. Fagade, a marketing communications professional, is the founder and managing director of Sodium Brand Solutions.
  3. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement. Adedokun, before his new role, was the director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the Bureau.

In his statement, President Tinubu urged the newly appointed officials to perform their duties with dedication, patriotism, and excellence.
