Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for president, has cautioned that, if elected, his administration would end fuel subsidies despite Nigerians’ protests.

He scowled at the idea that the Federal Government might be financing fuel use in neighbouring African nations like Cameroon, Niger, and Benin Republic.

In order to provide the people with a conducive environment for conducting business, he also pledged to work toward improving the security in the nation.

According to the Tinubu, since it is the duty of the government to protect citizens’ lives and property, his administration would prioritise doing so if elected, just as it did when he served as governor of Lagos State.

In response to the topic of fuel subsidies and his plans as president, he stated that one of those decisions would be a firm one on fuel subsidies, emphasising that Nigeria would no longer subsidise fuel consumption in its neighbouring countries.

How is it possible that we are financing the fuel needs of Cameroon, Niger, and the Benin Republic? We are going to take away subsidy, no matter how long you protest,” he said emphatically.
