Tinubu Appoints New Leadership to Nigerian Ports Authority.

 

President Bola Tinubu has relieved Mohammed Bello-Koko of his duties as the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority and appointed, in his place, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, while Senator Adedayo Adeyeye was appointed chairman of the Board.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale MR, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, made the announcement today.

The statement noted: “Dr. Dantsoho holds a Doctorate degree in Maritime Technology from Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, and a Master’s degree in International Transport from Cardiff University of Wales, United Kingdom.”

Before this appointment, Dr. Dantsoho held the following positions among others at the NPA: Assistant General Manager, Technical Assistant to the Managing Director, Port Manager of Onne Port, and Principal Manager of Tariff & Billing.

The newly appointed Board Chairman, Senator Adeyeye, is an accomplished lawyer, journalist, and politician. He had previously served as Minister of State for Works and Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District.

The President expects the new leadership to excel in providing efficient services at the ports, arguing that when this is achieved, improvement in outcomes in the industry is realized.
