President Bola Tinubu has retracted the appointment of Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of the Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI), just hours after it was announced.

Initially, a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga introduced Danfulani as the new appointee. However, a subsequent statement by Onanuga clarified that Fatima Umaru Shinkafi, who has held the position since her appointment by former President Muhammadu Buhari, would continue in her role.
