Train Crush Army Sergeant On Motorcycle to death in Lagos state
On Wednesday, a Nigerian Army sergeant was killed by a passenger train at the PWD crossing in the Ikeja neighbourhood of Lagos.
The train was reportedly travelling from Ibadan to Iddo in Lagos when it collided with the soldier who had attempted to cross the rail line on his motorcycle.

This comes less than three months, after a passenger train collided with a Lagos State government staff bus carrying workers and their families at the same location.
On the morning of March 9, 2023, a tragic incident resulted in the death of six people and the injury of approximately eighty passengers.
Wednesday’s incident occurred around 6.30 p.m., according to witnesses.
Prior to his death, the deceased soldier, identified as Sergeant Jidean Samson, was assigned to the 9 Brigade in Ikeja, Lagos.

According to a military source, the incident occurred at the PDW railway crossing, and the 9th Brigade of the Nigerian Army has been informed of the sergeant’s death.
The source, who did not wish for his name to be published because he was not authorised to speak, stated that the body was transferred to the mortuary of the Military Hospital in Yaba, Lagos.
Lt. Col. Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni, Deputy Director of Public Relations for the 81 Division of the Nigerian Army responsible for Lagos and Ogun State, did not respond to his calls.
