Although Ken Pela’s petition has been dismissed, the situation is not completely resolved for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. Another challenge to his victory is still ongoing at the Tribunal.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the governorship candidate of the Delta All Progressives Congress, has filed a separate petition challenging Governor Oborevwori’s victory. This indicates that the legal battle surrounding the governorship election in Delta State is not yet concluded.
The challenge brought by Senator Ovie Omo-Agege adds further complexity to the political situation in Delta State. The outcome of this ongoing case will determine whether Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory stands or if there will be further legal proceedings or even a possible review of the election results.
