Trump Indicted In Classified Documents Case
Former president Donald Trump has been indicted in the classified documents case, marking him the first time a former president of the United States has been charged with federal crimes.
A federal grand jury has indicted Donald Trump for mishandling more than 100 classified documents discovered at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last year, making him the first twice-impeached former president to face federal criminal charges.

Trump stated Thursday night that his attorneys have been informed that he has been indicted in the investigation of his handling of classified documents by the special counsel.
Trump stated in a post on his social media platform Truth Social, “The corrupt Biden Administration has informed my attorneys that I have been indicted, ostensibly for the Boxes Hoax.”, adding that he was innocent of the allegations levied against him.
“I never thought it possible that such a thing could happen to a former president of the United States,” he wrote.
He added: “This is indeed a dark day for the United States of America. We are a country in serious and rapid decline, but together we will Make America Great Again!”
Trump reportedly received a summon to appear in federal district court on June 13.
The special counsel’s spokesperson declined to comment.
According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the indictment is under seal, so the government cannot comment.
However, Legal experts have stated that the former American President, Trump will still be able to enter and continue the White House race.
“He can be indicted any number of times and it won’t stop his ability to stand for office,” says David Super, a professor at Georgetown University Law Centre.
Mr. Super noted that Mr. Trump could continue to run for office even if he is convicted in the case involving the documents.
