The Vice Chancellor clarified that the aim of this measure is not punitive, but rather preventive and rehabilitative.
Furthermore, the University of Abuja has established a partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to support students who may be struggling with substance abuse issues.
Prof. Na’allah emphasized that the institution’s priority is the well-being and academic success of its students.
It is important to note that students who test positive for drug use will not face immediate expulsion from the university.
