Varsity VC offers scholarship to JAMB best student in 2023 UTME
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s (JAMB) overall best student in the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE) has been offered a full scholarship, according to Rev. Fr. Christian Anieke, Vice Chancellor of Godfrey Okoye University (GOU), Enugu.
Additionally, a full scholarship to Godfrey Okoye College of Medicine was extended to the student.
Anieke revealed the news on Friday in Enugu, during the handing over of a car to the first male student “Vice Chancellor For One Day” of GUO.

Lotanna Azuokeke, an Anambra native, set a new benchmark in the recently completed JAMB exam by earning 337 points.
Azuokeke, a 15-year-old student at Bishop Otubelu Juniorate in Trans Ekulu, Enugu, is said to be from Ba in the Idemmili South Local Government Area and to be from Enugu.
His final grade was 337 and included the following components: English: 64; Mathematics: 99; Physics: 86; and Chemistry: 88.
A 400L student at the university named Vitalis Iloanuwusi won the title of GUO VC for one day after achieving a cumulative grade point average of 5.O over the course of two semesters, making him the first male to hold the position.
Anieke commented on the matter, saying, “The VC is offering this exceptional student a full scholarship to study in our college of medicine, and this is in line with my passion for education and desire to empower young people and make them extraordinary.”
